About our information

How our information is prepared

Clear explanations for patients and families, with clinical review before publication.

Authorship and clinical review

The clinical information on this website is authored and approved by Dr AlHilali, Consultant Clinical Oncologist. Articles are prepared for a general audience and reviewed before they are published.

Sources and scope

Articles link to the sources used to support their explanations. These may include clinical guidance, research and established cancer information organisations. The aim is to explain what is known, where uncertainty remains and why an individual treatment plan may differ.

This is independent patient information. References to professional roles or organisations do not imply their endorsement of the website.

Updates and corrections

Articles show their publication date. A material revision is identified with an updated date. A clinical review date is displayed where it has been recorded; dates are not refreshed merely to make an article appear newer.

If you spot an error or information that may need updating, please use the routes on the contact page. Please identify the article and the point of concern, without sending personal medical information.

Articles and videos

Where an article accompanies a video, the article provides a fuller explanation and sources. The article and video are checked for consistency. Each article is intended to remain useful on its own.

Personal medical advice

This website cannot assess your symptoms, interpret your own results or recommend an individual treatment. Your clinical team can explain how the information relates to your care.
